In this class you will be learning how to do “Freezer Paper Applique”.  We will cover how to make PERFECT points, curves and circles

  • Clover Wedge Iron or Clover Mini Iron ( stand or coffee mug for mini )
  • Pressing Surface such as June Tailors
  • Stiletto
  • Best Press ***
  • Small brush ( will be used to paint starch on seam allowance)
  • Roxanne’s glue ( small .25 )
  • Black Ultra fine Sharpie
  • Paper & Embroidery Scissors
  • Freezer Paper
  • 50 w Cotton Thread *** to match each fabric ( DMC or Aurafil )
  • Dear Jane Book or CD

Fabric:  All fabric should be 100% cotton, washed and pressed.  

  • 9 squares cut at 6 inches for background.

Can be different colors or same. No dark fabrics for this class

  •  9 squares of 6 inch to be used for each block

 

*** I will supply small containers with Best Press and needles.

Laura Fraga Bio

Laura Fraga is an award-winning quiltmaker, teacher and lecturer who has been quilting since 1990 and teaching quilting since 2000.

She is known for her Hand Applique and teaching students “the perfect stitch”.  Her passion for intricate piecing brought her to the Civil War Quilt “In War Time by Jane Stickle. 

Laura’s students appreciate he hands-on teaching approach and her focus on helping students advance and improve their own technical skills.

Laura has taught at The Empty Spools Seminar and was featured on The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims (episode 1511)
